I can't even reinstall OS X since it is not in the list of available disks. I came across OSX86TOOLS and it seems to be able to install EFI and what not, however I'm not certain hat's exactly what I need to do. I thought I just had to do it again but I don't have the option to erase anymore (only two tabs, the main one and the 'partition'), I can't boot on it, after the login it loads forever with a crossed out circle instead of the apple. This article covers: Why is USB boot media needed How to start a Mac using USB boot media How to start a Windows using USB boot media How to start a Linux Ubuntu using USB boot media. (Make sure the usb is partitioned as mac bootable then use use the image recovery and put your mounted OS X iso into the source and your usb as the location. It seems that my MBR is messed up or something? put the iso on a usb stick (drag it into your mac hard drive and mount it) format your usb stick with the disk utility tool. Now click the Erase button and confirm again. Now type a new name for the Volume and select the format type as Mac OS Extended ( Journaled). Format an External Disk or Flash Drive for Mac in Maverics. Click on the Erase option across the top in the main window. I removed the partition and rEFIT and now when I attempt to install Windows on a new partition created using BootCamp, pressing OPTION does not show the Windows USB created with Boot Camp, nor is the Apple Recovery or whatever partition that was available before. Select the External drive or Flash Drive on the left that shows the capacity. I installed Ubuntu on my iMac (partially successfully) I had rEFIT installed but it did not recognize the Ubuntu installation.
